A rising number of well-known companies are employing university graduates and school leavers on a long-term work experience basis called ‘internships’. An intern is someone who works for a company and is totally unpaid or paid very low rates. Graduate Fog (an innovative website set up for job-hunting graduates and recently launched Pay Your Interns campaign) recently exposed Topshop, who admitted paying £3.50 per day to their interns.
